Now that I have laughed and cried and dried my eyes from both, it was wonderful to watch Paul and Lenny Baker (of SHA NA NA, who was so sick then) sing together again. This was so very special.
My girlfriends & I followed “Paul Wayne and the Wantells” around every Friday night of our High School Junior and Senior years. The song “To Make You Feel My Love” that Paul especially sang to me brought on more tears, as he was coming out to our family and friends and the world after 57 years.
Paul Watson chose the song “In The Still Of The Night”, which actually featured my daughter, Kelley and Mary Duggan-Watson (my oldest and dearest friend in the world, and the wife of interviewer, Paul Watson) to the left of Paul (Wayne).
To his right is former drummer’s daughter (another Kelly) and my very dear friend, Ginger’s daughter, Wendy. So special!!! Tears of joy here.
In the panning segment are Paul’s brother & wife, my son in-law, one of my grandsons, multiple high school friends of ours, Adam, the guy who Paul gave all his gigs to when he left.
Much of the crowd (about 25-30 of them) were Paul’s former neighbors AND the list of special people there goes on and on.
